jillian Loyden
Jillian Loyden is a former member of the U.S. Women’s National Team and Sky Blue FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). After her retirement in 2014, Jill transitioned to becoming the goalkeeper coach for Sky Blue FC (NWSL) for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. She also spent five years working with our US Youth National Teams and went to the U17 World Cup in 2019.
Jill founded The Keeper Institute in 2013, opened up their own goalkeeper specific training facility in 2015, and has been the director of the last six years. TKI is currently the only indoor goalkeeper specific training facility in the U.S. Coach Jill is committed to helping goalkeepers develop through game-like training scenarios in an environment where goalkeepers are encouraged to make their own autonomous decisions.

MULTIPLE INTENDED OUTCOMES WITH 3 GOALS
This exercise has multiple intended outcomes for each goalkeeper both in and out of possession. The focus for the goalkeeper in the large goal is shot stopping, transition to find an option, and a one touch pass (“Finish”) on the other goalkeepers defending the dummy goals.
DISTANCE DISTRIBUTION & DEFENDING THE SPACE
This exercise works all aspects of the positioning starting with a rondo, to a long range distribution, and dealing with protecting the space in behind. This game-like scenario forces the goalkeeper to work between angles of supporting and protecting the space in behind.
IN & OUT OF POSSESSION, WITH 1V1
This is an in and out of possession exercise that allows goalkeepers to work on supporting angles, intentional first touches, solving pressure, finding not only an option but the best option, as well as protecting the goal out of possession in a 1v1 situation as well.
