Paul Rogers joined the Dynamo as Goalkeeper Coach in 2015. Prior to joining the Dynamo he served as the U.S. Women’s National Team goalkeeper coach since 2009. The Brighton, England native joined the U.S. women’s national team as goalkeeper coach in March 2009 and helped lead the U.S. to a gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games and a second-place finish at the 2010 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

 

Working alongside Paul, is Club Director of Goalkeeping for the Houston Dynamo, Jason Grubb. Jason’s role is to design and deliver training sessions for the 1st team, ULS team and our U23/ Academy Teams. Jason also strategically plans and delivers a seamless pathway that provides Goalkeepers to progress through the Academy / Reserve system and into the 1st team. Jason is highly regarded as one of the best up and coming goalkeeper coaches in USA.

In the latest episode of our GkNexus webinar series, we sit down with Houston Dynamo goalkeeper coaching duo, Paul Rogers and Jason Grubb. Together, they are responsible for designing an incredible goalkeeper curriculum and pathway, for youth goalkeepers, through to the first team, which we are excited to share with our members.

We discuss the goalkeeper pathway at the club, how sessions are structured across the different phases, context behind the training clips shared, opportunities for youth goalkeepers to train in the first team and so much more.
